Our story

Built solo, in Vienna, with care.

A small story about why Timerdoro exists.

Why I built this

I tried every Pomodoro app on the App Store. Some were beautiful but lacked features I needed. Others had everything but felt cluttered or pushed me into expensive subscriptions for basic functionality. None felt right.

So I started building my own — initially just for myself. After friends tried early versions and asked when they could have it on their phones, I decided to make it real.

Timerdoro is the app I wished existed: clean, beautiful, native to Apple's ecosystem, with a fair price and zero compromises on privacy.

What I believe

🍅 Focus over features

An app should do one thing exceptionally well. Pomodoro is the core, everything else serves that.

🔒 Your data is yours

No analytics, no trackers, no third-party SDKs. What happens on your device stays on your device.

💎 Pay once, own it

Subscriptions for everything became absurd. Buy Timerdoro Pro once and keep it forever.

🎨 Design matters

You'll spend hours with this app. It deserves to be beautiful, not just functional.

🍎 Native is best

Built with SwiftUI for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Each platform feels like home, not an afterthought.

♻️ Ship slowly, intentionally

I'd rather release one polished update than ten half-baked ones. Quality over quantity.

The Timerdoro brand

Timerdoro is more than software — it's a small brand identity built around three legally distinct mark forms. Each is filed under specific Nice classes (Nizza-Klassen) to anchor the legal scope of protection.

1

Word mark — „Timerdoro"

The name combines „Timer" (the function) with the suffix „-doro" (a nod to Pomodoro — the kitchen timer that gave the technique its name). It's a coined word, not found in any dictionary, which makes it strong from a trademark perspective: distinctive at a glance, no descriptive overlap with everyday vocabulary.

Nice classes: Class 9 — downloadable software
2

Figurative mark — the tomato icon

A simplified red tomato silhouette with a stylised green stem. Used as the app icon, the favicon, and as a standalone graphic in marketing. Designed to be recognisable at 28×28 px in a menu bar as much as at full app-icon size on a Mac dock.

Nice classes: Class 9 — downloadable software Class 42 — software as a service
3

Colour mark — Tomato Red #EE5C52

A specific shade of tomato red, RGB (238, 92, 82), used consistently across the app and website as the primary accent. Colour-only marks are rarely registered alone — the EUIPO requires proof of acquired distinctiveness (C-49/02 „Heidelberger Bauchemie"). Our colour is therefore always used alongside the figurative mark, strengthening recognisability over time.

Trademark conflict research

Before adopting the marks, we searched the major trademark databases for similar marks in the relevant Nice classes. The result was nuanced — here's what we found and how we mitigate it.

✓ CLEAR

EUIPO TMview & Madrid Monitor

No registered EU or international trademarks for „Timerdoro" in classes 9 or 42. „Pomodoro"-related marks exist but refer to food products, restaurants, or unrelated software with sufficiently distinct branding.

⚠ NOTED

Prior use: timerdoro.com

A web-based Pomodoro timer at timerdoro.com (Gelform Inc., US) has been online since approximately 2015. No registered trademark was found on USPTO TESS or TMview, but use-based common-law rights may apply in the US. To mitigate: our offering is a separately branded native Apple-platform app, geographically focused on EU markets first, with distinct visual identity (icon, colour, typography). We monitor the situation and remain open to a coexistence agreement.

✓ CLEAR

Austrian Patent Office (ÖPA)

No national Austrian trademark conflict found in classes 9 or 42. Search performed via see-ip.patentamt.at.

✓ CLEAR

Apple App Store name check

No active iOS app named „Timerdoro" on the App Store at the time of filing. Bundle identifier at.wudernitz.timerdoro is reserved.

Note: this is a self-conducted preliminary check, not a formal legal opinion. We recommend an attorney-led freedom-to-operate analysis before EU trademark filing.
